"Buy Cheap, Buy Twice" is the fourth episode in the second season of A Girl Named Jo, and the twelfth episode overall. It aired on January 29, 2019.

Synopsis[]

Cathy grows suspicious of her older brother.

Plot[]

Dwight enters the cafe with Abby, and people start to look at them as if they are outcasts. Meanwhile two jocks are talking with Junior about him and Cathy saying that her and Dwight may have feelings for each other. Junior ignores this and says claims they are just lab partners, then one of them starts talking, making him feels bad. This makes Junior mad, tries to start a fight but Principal Wilson breaks them up before it can happen. Jo and Cathy are getting their lunch, Jo sees Wilson talking with Abby and tells Cathy to come with her.

Jo and Cathy enter Wilson's office, they go through her stuff hoping to find answers who she is and why she's in Attaway dating her father. Cathy finds her wallet containing her drivers license in one of the drawers, it says that her name is actually Deborah Collins, then Jo starts to believe that she's still with someone and is trying to get something from Thomas.

Russell Fitzroy is on the phone with Lawrence's father Charles DuPont, he is demanding half the decisions for the business due to them paying half of the work, but Charles hand up on him. Henry comes in the room and tells him that he has reviewed their contract with the DuPont's and believes that they taking advantage of the Fitzroy's. He mentions that all the workers that Charles hired are DuPont related and that he's one of the directors of the catering deal with the Crown Lake Club and that his son Lawrence has been bragging constantly about how it's their pet project. Russell tells him that he realizes they sent him away too young but had no choice due the bad things he did as a child. Henry forgives him and said that he has become a man because he was sent away. Russel wonders what to do with Charles DuPont, then Henry tells him that he took liberty in setting up a meeting with the Millwood Bank and suggests negotiating with them.

At school, Allen and Alice are talking as they quickly start to bond. Jo comes in and attempts to talk to him, but then leaves after seeing him and Alice. Allen tries to reason with her but they start to argue about their relationship how Allen hasn't been there for Jo, he claims that they are just friends and has enough to deal with, and then Jo leaves.

Cathy finds Dwight sitting on the steps, she confronts him and apologizes for what happened last night with her parents. He tells her that she doesn't have to apologize or explain herself and that hopefully one day the world will be different. Meanwhile, Junior and Jo are both in a state of depression, Junior tells her that Cathy, his girlfriend is losing interest in him. Jo claims that it's weird seeing Debbie as their principal dating their dad.

Henry is in Ernie Sutherland's office to negotiate. He informs Ernie that the DuPont's are having problems, and requests to take the loan against their hotel. Ernie tells him that he doesn't have authorization to take their loan and that it needs to be approved by a DuPont member, and Henry says it won't be an issue.

Debbie and Abby are having a nice chat in the principal's office. Meanwhile, Junior and Lawrence are both lifting weights in the gym. They begin teasing each other and then Lawrence through jealousy says that Dwight needs to learn a lesson.

Cathy and Jo are doing homework at Cathy's house when they hear Henry on the phone with Chuck DuPont. When he hangs up and leaves, they follow him.

Henry arrives at Chuck DuPont's office to discuss terms. Cathy and Jo managed to follow Henry to the DuPont's house, they sneak through the backyard and open the window to Chuck's office so they can listen to the conversation. Henry says that he lined up financing to Millwood Bank covering their capital improvements and tells him he can contact him directly and not worry about Russell Fitzroy. Chuck is impressed with Henry's ambition and cooperation wishing Lawrence was the same, he tells him that his son doesn't do much to help to help with their project for the hotel saying he needs a proper education. Henry offers to take Lawrence under his wing, Chuck tells him he and his wife will be away for a while so he accepts his offer. Cathy is shocked to hear that her own brother is double crossing their father.

Then the Fitzroy's are having dinner when the phone rings. Cathy goes to pick it up and can't believe who it is. Ray Fitzroy was calling to give news to Cathy about Henry and what he's really doing in Attaway. But before he can say anything, Henry comes and asks who's calling and if it's for him, she makes an excuse saying that it's just Jo and quickly hangs up.
