Catherine "Cathy" Fitzroy is one of the main characters in A Girl Named Jo.
Biography[]
Cathy was born in Attaway sometime in 1947 to the wealthy Fitzroy family.
Her friend group in high school was initially just the other upper and upper-middle class kids at Attaway High. She was in a relationship with Laurence DuPont.
Despite their class differences, she befriended Jo Chambers. Through this her perspective on life changed.
After Jo left Attaway, she would occasionally send her postcards. Cathy ended up marrying Allen Alvarez and stayed in Attaway for the rest of her life. They had at least one daughter. She ended up leaving a journal of her time with Jo together for her granddaughter, Monica. Then she died from a heart attack.
