"Glioblastoma" is the third episode in the first season of Attaway General, and the third episode overall. It was aired on June 3, 2020.
Synopsis[]
While Jack and Holden bond, Kit tries to prove she's the best volunteer and Georgia gets a warning about Will.
Plot[]
Nina assigns Kit and Rosie to take care of a young patient named Molly, but Kit was hoping she would be assigned to Holden case instead. Nina leaves to attend a meeting, and a while after, Molly passes out. Kit performs CPR and tells Rosie to go get help.
Dr. Henry runs into the room and sees Molly passed out barely breathing. He gives orders to start saline 250 IV push and start rescue reps on her and tells Kit she did a good job on her.
Jack is told by Nina to keep an eye on Holden and make sure he's ok, and immediately slacks off. Meanwhile, Georgia is in the break room having some coffee when she is approached by Maeve who claims she knows what going on between her and Will. She says that Will picks a new girl each year to hook up with and warns Georgia to walk away from him before she gets hurt, but Georgia ignores this and walks away.
Kit and Rosie are taking care of Molly, Kit mentions she has Glioblastoma and that its a rare brain cancer. Rosie tells her she shouldn't be saying those things out loud and looking at her charts saying that it's not their job. Meanwhile, Jack sees Holden upset and doesn't want to talk to anyone, so he decides to comfort him and make him feel better.
A while later, Dr. Henry come to see Molly with her mother and tells Kit to step outside the room to speak with Molly and her mother, so Rosie follows her but Dr. Henry tells her to stay. Kit asks to speak with the doctor for a moment and tells him that she was the one who saved Molly's life and has been studying upon her cancer and that she deserves to stay instead of Rosie. Dr. Henry then insists she leaves.
Georgia walks by and sees her father talking with the patient Molly, then sees Will talking to another girl, she walks away but Will approaches her asking if they can talk but she rejects his offer and disappointingly leaves.
Kit is in the break room having coffee when she is approached by Rosie. Kit is mad and tells her that all she does is suck up to the doctor and nurses to get what she wants. Rosie says that it's not what she thinks and she just here to give back to the community. Kit doesn't believe this and asks her what she did to be assigned to Molly. She claims that she is Dr. Henry's former patient and had the same brain cancer as Molly and that why he asked her to stay, then Kit apologizes saying she had no idea.
Kit takes Holden out for a walk to get fresh air who notices she's feeling really down. He asks her if she's feeling ok, she says that she feels like she's not good enough to be a doctor anymore saying she messed things up with Rosie and almost got Holden killed not knowing what was wrong with him. He tells her that it's not her fault and that his condition can't be seen by just looking at him and says that he might need major heart surgery. Then he asks Kit to tell him about her day to make him smile.
