"Who We Become" is the fourth episode in the second season of Crown Lake, and the twelfth episode overall. It aired on December 26, 2019.
Synopsis[]
Tensions are at an all-time high as Lola challenges a fellow wrestler, Josh confronts Nick about his "services", and Nellie stands up for Chloe against Tiffany's unrelenting bullying.
Plot[]
Nick is tutoring Nellie in Spanish who is improving nicely. Tiffany notices their little session, then Nellie asks if he knew her brother Evan, he responds by saying they knew each other through their fathers who were co-presidents of a company called Oasis Inc..
Ms. Rose approaches Chloe to encourage her to sign up for ecology club as a member for the upcoming annual fair. Chloe has second thoughts and then notices that Ms. Rose is carrying a lot of keys. Ms. Rose tells her that Crown Lake has a lot of locks around the academy and some are better locked away forever.
Tiffany is on the computer and reads a newspaper online that says her family and the Lazaro's are fighting over fraud allegations at their company which worries her about the financial safety of her family.
Nellie is studying Spanish, and looks at the letter from Heather, remembering that she should tell Nick the truth about Tiffany’s brother. Meanwhile, Lola is helping Josh practice wrestling when Chad comes in to gloat. Josh tells him that Lola was teaching him some wrestling tips, Lola challenges him to a fight after school, which Chad laughs at her and accepts.
Later, Josh sees Nick selling drugs to another student. So he approaches him and tells him to keep his drugs away from the wrestling and to stay away from Nellie. Nick tells him he doesn’t have to speak for Nellie and doesn’t seem to feel wrongful of anything.
Tiffany goes up to Chloe and steals her notebook and reads it out loud for everyone to hear. Nellie steps in and the two start smack talking each other, then when they are about to fight, Erin announces that there is another fight going on in the gym and everyone follows her there. Then Nellie pulls Nick aside to tell him the truth about Tiffany’s brother Evan.
Everyone goes to the gym to see Lola challenge Chad to a wrestling match, with everyone circled around them. They are evenly matched, then Lola looks over at Chloe and winks, Chad grabs her and tries to pin her down, but Lola flips over and takes control, so she pins him down and wins the match. She tries to help Chad up but he refuses, then Josh and Chloe congratulate her and she goes over and hugs Chloe tight.
Tiffany bumps into Nick who tells her he knows about her brother and his condition in the hospital. Tiffany asks him who told him and he responds by saying it doesn’t matter and that his father will soon know about it being important information to keep from them.
Chloe sees Ms. Rose in her office and asks to join ecology club who gladly lets her do so.
Nellie goes to the basement to see that someone has already wrote the truth about Tiffany’s brother on the Tattle Wall. Tiffany sees this with Erin and Becca who are both angry that she would lie and keep this from them. Tiffany blames Nellie for this and tells her she has no idea who she messed with. Nellie doesn’t seem to care and walks away with Erin and Becca.
